Enrol at HPSS
Welcome to the online Enrolment Form for Hobsonville Point Secondary School. To enrol your children at our school, please read this information and scroll down to start your enrolment.
To enrol you must live in-zone otherwise your enrolment will not be processed. If you are planning to purchase or rent a new home, you must be living in that home at the time of enrolment and for at least twelve months after the student's first day at our school. We do not accept any out-of-zone enrolments. Please see the information regarding our school zone here.
You must be living in-zone both at the time of submitting your enrolment and on the first day your child attends school.
Please carefully read the information below before you enrol so that you are aware of the process and requirements of enrolment. Submitting the incorrect documents will delay your enrolment.
Step 1: Preparation
Read the information below and prepare the necessary documents to upload before you begin the enrolment online.
Step 2: Online Enrolment
Enrol your child by entering your details as one of the child's legal guardians at the bottom of this page. The link to the enrolment form will then be emailed to you to complete. Please come into our reception office, call or email us, if you need assistance to complete your enrolment.
Step 3: Documentation
As one of the final steps on the enrolment form, you will be asked to upload all of the documents that are requested. This is the most important step. If you do not have all of the documents available, please wait until you do before you start the enrolment.
Please only send what is listed below. Sending additional documents is not helpful and may delay the process.
We require the following documentation to process your enrolment:
- The student's original birth certificate AND
- The student's passport. For non-NZ passport holders, all relevant Visa details and a copy of the stamped page from your passport with the arrival date to NZ and all current Visa documents.
Plus two of the following in the name(s) of the main caregiver(s) and they must show your address:
- A current contents insurance policy cover document that outlines that you are the occupier of the property (not house insurance)
- A current electricity bill
- A current LPG gas bill
- A current broadband / WIFI bill
- A bond lodgement confirming receipt of bond from Tenancy Services
- A residential lease/rental contract with a licensed Property or Real Estate Agency. Your tenancy agreement must be in place on enrolment and for 12 months from the student's first day of school. If you are not renting with a licensed agency, you must provide two other forms of residential ID as above. A printed rental agreement from the internet is not acceptable.
We also ask that, if applicable, you upload any additional information such as parental orders, care agreements, as well as any medical or psychologist reports that will support us in caring for your child.
Step 4: Enrolment meeting
Once Step 3 is completed you will receive an email to book an enrolment meeting date and time. This enrolment meeting must include the parent(s)/legal guardian(s), the student, and one of our Senior Leadership Team. This meeting will usually take 20-30 minutes and will be held at the school.
For 2025 enrolments, we have two special enrolment meeting weeks -
- Term 3, Week 6: 26th - 31st August 2024; and
- Term 4, Week 2: 21st - 26th October 2024.
If you enrol later than these enrolment weeks, your enrolment will be put on hold until we can organise an interview time.
Step 5: Confirmation of enrolment
For enrolments throughout the current school year, you will be able to start school on an agreed date at the enrolment meeting and we will provide all the information you need.
For 2025 enrolments, we will share information about starting secondary school next year in the enrolment meeting. You will also get email updates from us in November, December and January, about everything you need to know to help your child feel prepared for secondary school. We have an Orientation Day for all Year 8s in November and also have an induction day for all new students at the beginning of February.
